Geography and History
Green Point is a trendy suburb of Cape Town in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is just outside the city centre, between the V&A Waterfront and Signal Hill.
Green Point prides itself on being gay friendly and Main Road, Green Point is a lively experience of pubs, clubs and cabaret restaurants in the evenings. Many new mid-rise apartment and mixed-use developments have gone up in recent years. Somerset Road forms the main thoroughfare.
The Cape Town Stadium was constructed on Green Point Common for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. .
Many of the homes are Victorian-style restorations with balconies and trellises as well as lovingly reconditioned original features of this period.

Activities
For the tourist, Cape Town offers a variety of activities and attractions, such as the Two Oceans Aquarium, Ratanga Junction Theme Park, Canal Walk Shopping Centre, craft markets, the BMW Pavilion, IMAX Theatre and numerous shopping centres.
Situated in the car park outside the Green Point Stadium in Cape Town is one the largest markets you will find in the City. The market runs every Sunday and Public Holiday and is always alive with people, music and crafts from A – Z. You will find loads of traditional African art pieces, curios, books and CD’s and just about anything and everything else you would expect to find at a craft market.
