Citrusdal
General Information
Citrusdal is a bustling rural village situated in the West Coast region of the Western Cape, South Africa. Set amongst lush green citrus orchards, less than two hours drive from Cape Town on the N7, Citrusdal is surrounded by gorgeous scenery and lies between the Koue Bokkeveld and Swartberg Mountains.
Citrusdal is known for its superior citrus fruits and products. Local farmers, however, also grow Rooibos Tea and vegetables, produce honey and keep cattle and sheep.
Activities and Businesses
The Cederberg Wilderness Area, which stretches through Citrusdal, was proclaimed a wilderness area in 1973. The Cederberg is renowned for its spectacular landscapes and rock formations, as well as the increasingly rare Clanwilliam cedar tree. There are many restaurants around to suit every visitors taste and budget. Accommodation is also abundant with self-catering units and bed and breakfasts available.
